At 6 am for some journalists and camera crews the wait begins. The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention is to release it conclusions on the detention of Julian Assange, presently at the Embassy of Ecuador. I arrive at 09:00hrs, the sidewalks are all full with the press. We wait: for the report, the press conference, and eventually for an appearance of Julian Assange. The press conference takes place at the frontline club with a live stream from the embassy. At around 16:00hrs, Julian Assange appears on the balcony of the embassy holding a copy of the report. He makes a brief speech and returns behind the curtained glass doors.
My attention is down to my colleagues, all waiting for the event to happen. This reportage is more about them, rather than the event itself.
